On Monday, Harper made it abundantly clear that he has no interest in discussing his contract status, instead choosing to focus on how he can help the Nationals — who are favorites to win their third straight NL East title — advance past the first round of the playoffs for the first time since moving to Washington, D.C., in 2005.
The league has had huge international players throughout its history like Yao Ming, Arvydas Sabonis, Dirk Nowitzki, and countless others.
During Friday’s game, we’re going to watch international talent like Bogdan Bogdanovic, Domantas Sabonis, Dillon Brooks, and other names we might not see all the time on League Pass or nationally televised games. It’s a great look for the NBA.
Hopefully, the league continues to build on its success.
The main reason Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan hasn’t been regarded as a success yet is found in 1-5. That’s Michigan’s record in games against Michigan State and Ohio State. The Wolverines have been agonizingly close, losing to Michigan State on the punt in 2015, to Ohio State in overtime in 2016, by four points to Sparty in 2017, and to 2017 Ohio State in another game Michigan led late.
Graham is already one of the highest-paid players in the league at his position so the tag would result in him getting 120 percent of his 2017 salary, which would mean a $12 million cap hit in 2018. The other possibility is Sheldon Richardson, but the tag for defensive linemen is even more expensive and the Seahawks just don’t have that much cap room to work with. It’s likely the exit door for both Graham and Richardson in Seattle.
Cornerback Brent Grimes is the interesting free agent decision looming for the Buccaneers after the 34-year old played out his two-year, $16 million contract and is headed to free agency. But Grimes is getting close to retirement and the franchise tag would be overkill to bring back an aging cornerback. There’s no reason for the Buccaneers to use the tag this year.
Gronk’s the best tight end in the league, and he’s one of the NFL’s best athletes in general. Plus, his laid-back personality just seems to fit the sport of snowboarding.
He sounds prepared for the slopes in this Facebook video of one of his offseason training sessions.
We’re killing this mountain, baby, Gronk yells. This mountain got destroyed by us!”
